MAMIE LOU BURKE HERRING

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Mamie Lou Herring, age 83, of Colquitt, GA who passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Miller County Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Herring will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Oakview Church of God with Rev. James Scarborough officiating and Bro. Jack Herring giving the eulogy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, July 28, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM Mrs.Herring was born in Brinson, GA on February 25, 1927 to the late Frank and Thelma Cowart Burke. She attended Oakview Church of God where she was a member of the Women of Grace and the Prime Timers. Mrs. Herring worked as a clerk/interior designer in the furniture business. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Donny Herring and his wife Nancy of Sebring, FL; one daughter, Sue Dunlap and her husband Lynwood of Eldorendo, GA; one brother, Ray Burke and his wife Hazel of Donalsonville, GA; and a grandson, Matthew Herring of Sebring, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Thelma Cowart Burke; her husband, Melvin Herring; a daughter, Marsha Herring; a son, Warren Herring; four brothers, Emory Burke, Euly Burke, Larry Burke, and Julius Burke; and three sisters, Myra Taylor, Lorene Lolley, and Annette Allen.
