REX FORD

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Rex Ford, age 74, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Ford will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hornsby officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, July 24, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Ford was born in Donalsonville, GA on September 4, 1935 to the late Evrett Edward “Doc” Ford and the late Jewell Herring Ford. He was retired from Georgia Pacific where he worked for a number of years as a lab supervisor. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Martha Ford of Donalsonville, GA; three daughters, Wanda Caye Nelson and her husband David of Kennesaw, GA, Kimberly Ann Powers and her husband Tommy of Augusta, GA, and Linda Jane Heussner and her husband Todd of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Janice Wyndam of Dothan, AL, Judy Brooks and her husband Travis of Donalsonville, GA, and Teresa Ford of Atlanta, GA; as well as seven grandchildren, Emma Jane Heussner, Henderson Edward Heussner, Jeb Henry Heussner, John Lawson Powers, Addison Ford Powers, Nicholas Nelson, and Mia Rose Nelson. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evrett Edward "Doc" Ford and Jewell Herring Ford; a brother, Royce Ford; and a son, John Kevin Ford. Active casketbearers will be Robert Goocher, Bill Goocher, Greg Davis, Warren Davis, Joe Moye, and Buddy Roberts. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
