FLORA CHESHIRE HARDY

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Flora Hardy, age 97, of Dothan, AL and formerly of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 at Wesley Manor. Funeral services for Mrs. Hardy will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Hardy was born in Houston County, AL on April 9, 1913 to the late Daniel Porter and Julia Ressie Hawkins Cheshire. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Donalsonville and worked as a barber. She loved animals and working with her flowers. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Clint Hardy and his wife Hilda of Dothan, AL; two brothers, Billy Mack Cheshire of Dothan, AL and Edsel Donnel Cheshire of California; two sisters, Mary Lee Cheshire McKeller of Athens, GA and Bonnie Inez Cheshire Allen of Lynn Haven, FL; two grandchildren, Lisa Ann Hardy Hyde and her husband Ed of Birmingham, AL and Kimberly Maddox and her husband Sammy of Dothan, AL; and six great grandchildren, Jessica Hyde Boulware, Jennifer Hyde, Will Heacock, Sara Heacock, Kirk Maddox, and Hillary Maddox. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grady Hardy and her parents, Daniel Porter and Julia Ressie Hawkins Cheshire; three sisters, Sybil Grace Cheshire Edwards, Ella Ruth Cheshire Taylor Grandberry, and Martha Alene Cheshire Adams; and a granddaughter, Laurie Lynn Hardy Snider. Active casketbearers will be Chris Jackson, Kirk Maddox, Sammy Maddox, Joe Burke, Jeff Phillips, and Chris Thomas. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
