We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Lucile Barber, age 88, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Sunday morning, July 18, 2010 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Barber will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Spring Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dean nd Dr. Charles O. Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, July 19, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Barber was born on April 23, 1922 in Decatur County, GA to the late Robert L. and Ruth Lovett Johnson. She was a homemaker and active member of Spring Creek Baptist Church as long as her health allowed. Mrs. Barber had held several offices in the church over the years. Mrs. Barber leaves to cherish her memory a son, Roy Barber and his wife Becky of Donalsonville, GA; three sisters, Bobbie Jo Perry of Donalsonville, GA, Ada Blackburn of Bainbridge, GA, and Onys Sanders of Lake City, FL; three grandchildren, Tana Titland and her husband Steve, Deann Butters and her husband Trey, and Nikki Barber-Mattson and her husband John; four great grandchildren, Drew, Noah, KiKi, and Travis Titland; and two daughters-in-law, Judy Barber Halliet and Vickie Barber. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Ruth Lovett Johnson; her husband, Henry B. Barber; two sons, Earl B. Barber and Steve M. Barber; three brothers, Milton Johnson, Robert Randall “Buddy” Johnson, and Roy Johnson; and three sisters, Ruth J. Earnest, Earnestine J. Alday, and Juanita Wilkes. Active casketbearers will be Tony Johnson, Lamar Blackburn, Garry Perry, David Johnson, Randy Earnest, and Lowell Johnson. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Baptist Church.
