We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Grace Askew Hurley, age 87, of Iron City, GA who passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Olive Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Iron City, GA with Rev. Donna Bevels and Rev. Eric Boomer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Hurley was born in Iron City, GA on August 1, 1922 to the late Jeff and Tessie Josey Askew. She had been a member of Olive Grove Primitive Baptist Church since 1952; and was a homemaker. She is survived by son, Lamar "Buster" Hurley and his wife Gwen of Iron City, GA; daughter, Gloria Joyce and her husband Larry of Macon, GA; sister-in-law Margaret Askew of Columbus, GA; 6 grandchildren, Tony Black, Teresa Dunn, Tessie Temples, Tracey Hurley, Buddy Wayne Hurley and John Hurley. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, Malori and Mattie Dunn, Sarah Beth and Taylor Black, Lee and Ryan Temples and John Hurley, II. She was preceded in death by by parents, Jeff and Tessie Josey Askew; her husband, John A. Hurley, son and daughter-in-law Johnny Wayne Hurley and Marti Gail Hurley. Active casketbearers will be Sammy Hand, Tommy Hunter, David Marvets, Patrick Creel, Kent Mathis and Tommy Mobley. Honorary casketbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
