WALLACE CLARKE SHIVER, SR.

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Wallace Clarke Shiver, Sr., age 64, of , Donalsonville, GA who passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Shiver will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 11:00 AM at South Mt. Zion Church of God with Pastor Tony Clay and Rev. Harrison Steege officiating. Interment will follow in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, June 2, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at South Mt. Zion Church of God, 696 Mayhaw Rd., Colquitt, GA 39837. Mr. Shiver was born in Donalsonville, GA on April 30, 1946 to the late L.T. and Mary Elizabeth (Tease) Wilson Shiver. He was an active member of South Mt. Zion Church of God where he was the church clerk, a member of the Pastor’s Council, and was instrumental in the construction of the new church building. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Nina Jo Chesnut Shiver of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Wallace Clarke Shiver, Jr. and his wife Stephanie and Kevin Joseph Shiver all of Columbus, GA; a daughter, Pennie Shiver Thornton and her husband Ty of Colquitt, GA; and a brother, Ronnie Joe Shiver of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Joseph Seth Shiver, Hope Alexander Shiver, Carly Rebecca Shiver, Elizabeth Brooke Thornton, Chloe Reese Shiver, Wallace Clarke Shiver, III(Trey), Ayden Luke Shiver, and Allison Taylor Thornton (Alli); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.T. and Mary Elizabeth (Tease) Wilson Shiver and a sister, Jimmie Ruth Shiver.
