HOUSTON MORRIS

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Houston V. Morris, age 91, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mr. Morris will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Trawick officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Morris was born in Seminole County on May 16, 1919 to the late James Daniel and Ida Lugenia Morris. He worked as a mechanic until his retirement and was an inactive member of Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Durwood Morris and his wife Phyllis of Donalsonville, GA; two granddaughters, Amy Long and her husband Kevin of Donalsonville, GA and Jennifer Brown and her husband Wayne of Bainbridge, GA; two great grandchildren, Ansley Long and Jacob Brown. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Joyce Morris of Donalsonville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Daniel and Ida Lugenia Thompson Morris; his wife, Lola Mavis Morris; two brothers, Walter Morris and Thomas Morris; and three sisters, Ossie Mathis, Eva Lynn, and Rossie Morris. Active casketbearers will be members of the Georgia State Patrol, TFC Jeromy Roberts, CPL Kyle Duke, TFC John Kirkus, TPR Brian Palmer, SR TPR Charles Hall, and RET MTPR David Ellis.
