Mrs. Priscilla Kelly Hornsby, age 69, of Donalsonville, GA fought a courageous battle with cancer and WON!! She took up residence in Heaven on Sunday, May 16, 2010. Funeral services for Mrs. Hornsby will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 11:00 AM at New Hope Worship Assembly with Rev. Charles Barineau officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. Mrs. Hornsby was born in Bonifay, FL on January 10, 1941 to the late Palmes (Pat) Kelly, Jr., and Marion Creel Kelly. She attended Holmes County Florida schools, Judson College and Florida State University where she met and married Kenneth Hornsby on July 7, 1962. She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She first and foremost loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Priscilla was a member of New Hope Worship Assembly, where she served as treasurer and was on the worship team for many years. She cherished her church family and shared her love for Jesus with everyone she met. Priscilla was a homemaker, a prayer warrior, and a mentor to many. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, cooking, and beach trips with her family. She had a lifelong passion for the Jewish nation, and always dreamed of visiting Israel. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth L. (Butch) Hornsby; two sons, Kelly and Anita Hornsby of Warner Robins, GA; Wade and Michelle (Miki) Hornsby of Millbrook, AL; two daughters, Tracy and Zack Johnston of Lucy, AL, and Holly Whitehead of Leesburg, GA; and her sister, Barb and Tom Lillis of Lake St Louis, MO. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Haley and Taylor Hornsby, Trey and Anna Johnston, Kelsey and Kara Whitehead, Drew Hornsby, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Marion Kelly of Bonifay, FL and by her brother, Palmes (Pat) Kelly, III of Byron, GA. Active casketbearers will be Zack Johnston, Trey Johnston, Patrick Wurst, Don Gurr, Ed Rogers and Buster Hurley.
