TESSIE GENEVA HUNTER SMITH

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Tessie Geneva Smith, age 74, of Iron City, GA who passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 3:30 PM at Olive Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemtery in Iron City, GA with Rev. Russell Hardesty and Elder Ross Plowden officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born in Iron City, GA on October 8, 1935 to the late Henry and Lillie Hunter. She was a member Olive Grove Primitive Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Vivian Vaughn and her husband Cheyenne Pinion of Iron City, GA; two sons Fred Baker of Iron City, GA and Gary Baker and his wife Ana of Iron City, GA; three brothers, Ray Hunter and his wife Brenda of Iron City, GA, Buddy Hunter and his wife Emily of Donalsonville, GA, and J. H. Hunter and his wife Pat of Iron City, GA; and one sister, Hazel Godwin and her husband Donice of Iron City, GA. Grandchildren, Stephanie Pippins and her husband Woody, Chris Vaughn, Carrie Vaughn, Gary Baker,II, Ana Vega, Felipe Vega, and Sandy Baker; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kayla, and Jenna Pippins and Carson Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lillie Hunter; a brother, William Hunter; her husband, Carlton Smith; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Baker. Active casketbearers will be Shane Turner, Mark Chason, Mark Parish, Tyler Pippins.
