LENDON B. "L.B." BROOKINS

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Lendon B.”L. B.” Brookins, age 79, of Iron City, GA who passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville, GA at 3:00 PM with Rev. Mylan Brookins and Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Oakview Church of God. Mr. Brookins was born in Headland, AL on October 22, 1930 to the late Ranzy L. and Grace Truman Knight Brookins. He served his country in the US Army during the Koren conflict and was a retired farmer. He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother, Sam Brookins of Donalsonville, GA; three sisters, Wynell Holt; Gwen Joiner and her husband Thomas, and Norma Trawick and her husband Will all of Iron City, GA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ranzy L. and Grace Truman Knight Brookins, brothers, Herman Brookins, Sr; Reuben Brookins and Hiram Brookins and sister, Zytel Bush. Active casketbearers will be Chris Brookins, Herman Brookins, Jr., Tommy Holt, Larry Joiner, Anthony Brookins, Damon Trawick, Jeffery Trawick and Reggie Trawick. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
