We regret to announce the passing of R. F. Spooner, age 88, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Anderson and Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 10, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Spooner was born in Seminole County, GA on April 21, 1918 to the late Rufus Franklin and Mary Thomas Spooner. He was a successful farmer and cattleman and was respected by his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years Marjorie Hornsby Spooner; four sons, Steve and Elaine Spooner of Sylvester, GA; Mike and Lynda Spooner of Donalsonville, GA; Neal and Brenda Spooner of Iron City, GA; Richard Hornsby Spooner of Iron City, GA; one daughter, June Meadows of Acworth, GA; one sister, Em Ellen Spooner Hoover of Evansville, IL.; one sister-in-law, Della Spooner Bell of Albany, GA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, F. Aubrey Spooner and one sister, Avis Spooner Weston. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bo Spooner, Greg Spooner, Michael Spooner, Brad Spooner, Ron Spooner, Matt Spooner, Kenneth Spooner, Ryan Meadows and Anthony Burch. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
