We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Jim Henry Spooner, age 59, of Thomasville, GA and formerly of Donalsonville who passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Archbold Medical Center. Graveside services for Mr. Spooner will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 23 2010 at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM He was born in Albany, GA on April 8, 1950 to the late John Ira “Phil” Spooner, Sr. and Flora Holland Spooner. He was a member of First Baptist Church during his early years where he enjoyed VBS. He participated in Special Olympics in Bainbridge even earning the opportunity to participate in Special Olympics in Colorado in 1976-1978. He attended Decatur-Seminole County Training Center, working there for a number of years. He is survived by one brother John Phil Spooner and his wife Julie of Destin, FL; sister-in-law Charlotte Roberts of Donalsonville, GA; one aunt, Joanna Holland of Colquitt, GA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Sheryl Phillips, Carol Houston, Phillip Spooner, Crystal Spooner, Jarod Fulford, Celesta Boyd, Brandi Deal and Brad Roberts as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; John Ira “Phil” Spooner, Sr. and Flora Holland Spooner; one brother, John Ira Spooner, III and two sisters, Flora Anne Spooner and Elizabeth Annette Spooner. Active casketbearers will be Phillip Spooner, Jarod Fulford, Dee Broome, Chason Trawick, Brantley Broome and Justin Henry.
