We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Kennith Eugene Brooks, age 76, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Donalsonville Church of God in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Kip Boswell and Rev. Joe Tatum officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Brooks was born in Donalsonville, GA on March 19, 1933 to the late Pryor and Hazel Miller Brooks. He had worked as a Deputy Sheriff with Seminole County, served as the coroner of Seminole County for 4 years and the deputy coroner for several years prior to being elected coroner, and was a certified EMT. He and his wife owned and operated Loyless Donut in Cairo, GA for 15 years. He was a member of the Donalsonville Church of God. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mavis Brooks of Donalsonville, GA; one son Cliff Brooks and his wife Pam of Gainesville, GA; two daughters, LeAnna Brooks of Donalsonville, GA and Karen Cross and her husband Stacy Cross of Iron City, GA; one brother, C.P. Brooks of Huntsville, AL; and 8 grandchildren, Mara Brooks, Savannah Brooks, Cody Cross, Tanner Cross, Carson Brooks, Michelle Brooks, Chad Brooks, and Jason Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pryor and Hazel Miller Brooks and a son, Terry Brooks. Active casketbearers will be Travis Brooks, Lyn Reynolds, Michael Albritton, Mike Adams, Bill Moody, Windell Cross, and Larry Cherry. Honorary casketbearers will be the men of Donalsonville Church of God and members of the Seminole County Sheriff's Department. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
