We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Helen Dick, age 69, of Brinson, GA who passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Dick will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Oakview Church of God in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Mylan Brookins, Rev. Jimmy Dean, and Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakview Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Oakview Church of God. Mrs. Dick was born in Donalsonville, GA on October 31, 1940 to the late Herman Brookins, Sr. and Niza Newberry Brookins. Before retiring, she worked for a number of years as a supervisor/billing clerk at Three Notch EMC in Donalsonville, GA. She was a member of Oakview Church of God where she was an active member of the Prime Timers, a Past President of the Ladies Ministry, a Girls Club counselor, a Sunday School teacher, a greeter, and nursery worker. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John Dick, Sr. of Brinson, GA; three sons, Jimmy Cannon and his wife Myki of Brinson, GA, John Dick, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Iron City, GA, and Chuck Dick and his wife Cheryl of Stockbridge, GA; three daughters, Denise Bonner and her husband Monroe of Donalsonville, GA, Cindy Trawick of Brinson, GA, and Terri Jackson and her husband Howard of Zebulon, GA; two brothers, Herman Brookins, Jr. and his wife Nina and Chris Brookins and his wife Barbara both of Donalsonville, GA; and one sister, Amelia Whittaker of Donalsonville, GA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brad Bonner and his wife April, James Cannon, Jason Dick, Shelby Dick, Morgan Dick, Bailey Jackson, and Nick Jackson; one great grandchild, Cadance Bonner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Brookins, Sr. and Niza Newberry Brookins; a husband, Larry Eugene Batchelor; and a granddaughter, Ansley Brooke Trawick.. Active casketbearers will be Greg Whittaker, Howard Whittaker, Dave Whittaker, Brian Brookins, Scott Brookins, and Anthony Brookins. The Oakview Church of God Prime Timers will serve as honorary casketbearers.
