We regret to announce the passing of Mr. James Howard McAnnally, age 78, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. McAnnally will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Andy Glover, Rev. Lattie DeRoco, and Rev. Bill Draper officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, January 22, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. McAnnally was born in Huntsville, AL on April 22, 1931 to the late Elmer and Elsie Idell McAnnally. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, raising his farm animals, and playing the banjo and harmonica. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Vera McMillan McAnnally of Donalsonville, GA; six daughters, Glenda Jane Kilso and her husband Lynn and Wanda Harper both of Hayneville, AL, Barbara Railey and her husband Sam of Ozark, AL, Merita Phillips, Teresa Yanez and her husband Mike, and Paula Lindsey and close friend Justino all of Donalsonville, GA; a brother, Melvin McAnnally and his wife Glenda of Cullman, AL; three sisters, Faye Harper, Elenor Gray Calvert, and Kay “Kody” Lamont all of Hayneville, AL; 15 grandchildren, Shane and Tony Harper, Eddie and Penny Kilso, Joni Wilson, Crystal and Brandi Phillips, Kimberly Shoub, Lucas Phillips, Andy Stewart, Kalob and Selena Yanez,and R.J., Ashley, and Nikki Lindsey; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elsie Idell McAnnally. Active casketbearers will be R.J. Lindsey, Kalob Yanez, Andy Stewart, Lucas Phillips, Mike Yanez, Sam Railey, and J.J. Pascual. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
