We regret to announce the passing of Mary Addie Parker Brigham, age 94, of Donalsonville who passed away on Friday, July 7, 2006 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Kirk Loyless officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Vistiation will be held Monday, July 10, 2006 from 6:00- 8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Brigham was born in Decatur County on September 23, 1911 to the late Joseph Jordan and Lucia King Parker. She was married to Willie Earnest "Bill" Brigham who preceded her in death. She graduated from G.S.C.W., now Georgia College, with an A.B. Degree in Education and taught in the Georgia Public Schools for thirty-seven years, thirty-two in Seminole County. She was Star Teacher in 1966. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, teacher of the Addie Brigham Sunday School Class, and a member of United Methodist Women. She belonged to the Woman's Club and the Retired Teachers Association. In 1980, she was chosen as Senior Citizen by the Chamber of Commerce, and the Brigham-Smith Honor Society at Seminole County High School was founded in 1981. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Patricia Wilcoxon and her husband Billy of Dallas, TX and Kathy Reese and her husband Buddy of Jakin, GA. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter Jan B. Franklin. Pallbearers will Ronnie Burke, Bill Burke, Royce Cannington, Mike Carr, Ronnie Harrell and Ronnie Shingler. Honorary pallbearers will be the Addie Brigham Sunday School Class and Worker's Guild Circle. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
