We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Retha M. Wilfred, age 64, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Friday, January 15, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 18, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Reynoldsville Church of God with Rev. Terry Chaney officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. Interment will follow at Reynoldsville Church of God Cemetery in Donalsonville. Mrs. Wilfred was born in Cairo, GA on November 27, 1945 to the late Julius Alfred and Ruby Lee Baxter Manning. She was a homemaker and a member of Reynoldsville Church of God. Mrs. Wilfred was a loving wife, mama, mema, and best friend. She enjoyed being around people and doing for others. Mrs. Wilfred loved quilting and used her talent to quilt lap blankets that she donated to the nursing home for the residents. She loved her God and her church family. The family expressed that they knew she had reached two goals on this day; the first was being called to her Heavenly home and the second was knowing that before she was called home all of her children had been saved and were ready to meet her again one day in Heaven. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Michael Wilfred of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Kenneth Bass of Thomasville, GA and Michael David Wilfred of Donalsonville, GA; six daughters, Brenda Holley of Thomasville, GA, Angie Bass of Donalsonville, GA, Cindy Bass Smith of Cairo, GA; Vickie Farrington of Dothan, AL, Barbara Loper Bass of Thomasville, GA, and Margaret McDonald of Scotland; two brothers, Thomas Manning and Danny Manning both of Cairo, GA; and one sister, Betty Jean Manning of Donalsonville, GA. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Linzy Meadows (Terry), Nikki Miller, Becky Farrington, Zack Farrington, Jason Loper ( Amy), Lisa Loper Burns (Jason), Trina Bass, Brandi Bass, Josh Sellers, Jennifer Sellers, Courtney Emma McDonald, and Jennifer Kennedy McDonald; seven great grandchildren, Chris, Haley, and Lilly Meadows, Caleb and Canden Burns, Morgan and Kenley Loper; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Julius Alfred and Ruby Lee Baxter Manning; a son, Robert “Bobby” Farrington; and a brother, James Manning. Casketbearers will be Zackery Farrington, Joshua Sellers, Jason Burns, Michael David Wilfred, Linzy Meadows and Vic Stuart.
