We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Elma Smith, age 91, of Clearwater, FL who passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Belleair East Nursing Home. A Funeral Service service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Dale Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville. Mrs. Smith was born in Donalsonville, GA on August 21, 1918 to the late Derice and Beatrice Brooks Faircloth. She retired from General Motors. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, JoAnn Smith Wisniewski and her husband Tom of Belleair Beach, FL; a son, David Smith of Largo, FL; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Derice and Beatrice Brooks Faircloth; and her husband, Joe Ed Smith and her daughter Carolyn Smith Steeb. Active casketbearers will be Leonard Wisniewski, Danny Smith, Dan Tobin, Fran Costello, Rev. Dale Miller and Sammy Jo Baker. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
