DOYLE COBB

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Doyle Cobb, age 79, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Friday, December 25, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Cobb will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Donalsonville First Assembly of God Church with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Cobb was born in Donalsonville, GA on November 30, 1930 to the late Grady and Daisy Hardy Cobb. He worked on the construction of the Oliver Dam in Columbus, GA before moving to the Atlanta area and working in a glass manufacturing plant. Mr. Cobb was a member of Donalsonville First Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed doing anything that involved working with wood, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and with his church family. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Thelda Cobb of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Randy Cobb and his wife Joy of Jonesboro, GA and Jerrell Cobb and his wife Debbie of Valdosta, GA; and one sister, Margriette Williams of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Cobb Phelps and her husband Cory, Angela Cobb Linebarger and her husband Johnny, Kimberly Cobb, and Elyse B. Cobb; and three great grandchilren, Jacob Phelps, Katelyn Linebarger, and Emma Linebarger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Cobb and Daisy Hardy Cobb and one brother, Hubert Cobb. Active casketbearers will be Greg Broxton, Gabriel Broxton, Eddie Cobb, Ronnie Shiver, Stephen Houston, and Tom Foster. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice 432 East Shotwell St. Bainbridge, GA 39817. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
