Edna Floyd, age 94, of Jakin, GA passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, FL. Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Zeth Smith and Rev. Ed Jelks officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA with Carlos Aguilar, Jimmy Cox, Rev. Robert Johns, Tracey Futch, and Brad Richter serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the church. The family will also receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Floyd was born in Gilbert, LA on June 13, 1923 to Aaron Drew Roberts and Jerlene Roberts. She was a homemaker and member of Springfield Baptist Church. Over the years, Mrs. Floyd was very involved in teaching Sunday School and GAs (Girls in Action) classes. She lead music for many years at Highland View Baptist Church in Port St. Joe, FL and was a member of the Jubilees. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Debra Womble and her husband Randy of Jakin, GA; her grandchildren, Barry Rogers and his wife Sheryl of Jakin, GA and Byron Rogers of Jakin, GA; her great grandchildren, Jared Rogers and Colin Rogers; and her special little Yorkie, Rocky. Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Jerlene Roberts; her husband, Archie D. Floyd, Sr.; her son, Archie David Floyd, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Janet Floyd; and her grandson, Archie David Floyd, III. Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
