CHARLIE M. KIRKSEY

Charlie M. Kirksey, age 85, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Saturday morning, January 27, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Kirksey will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home Rev. Jimmy Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Mr. Kirksey was born on January 11, 1933 in Colquitt, GA to Sid Kirksey and Effie Whitaker Kirksey. He owned Kirksey Tractor Company (Massey Ferguson) and after selling the tractor company he went to work with the State of Georgia Department of Transportation. He loved the Lord, and all his family. He also loved blue grass music and was known as the jokester for his storytelling. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 68 years, Bonnie Kirksey; his son Randy (Debra) Kirksey; his grandchildren, Christy Kirksey, Brian Kirksey, Chuck (Julie) Kirksey, and Blair (Sydney) Kirksey. He is also survived by four great grandchildren and a brother, Wilbur Kirksey. Mr. Kirksey was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Larry Kirksey. Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
