We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Stella Matthews Smith, age 76, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at her residence. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. James Scarborough and Rev. Donna Bevels officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. Mrs. Smith was born in Oakland Park, FL on February 10, 1933 to the late James Levi and Florence Irene Pence Matthews. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church; Lake Seminole Lion’s Club; a Board Member of Salvation Army, Southwest Georgia Division; a Garden Club member since 1981 and also was a Hospice worker. She was preceded in death by her husband James Donald Smith. She is survived by a son James Wyatt Smith and his wife Janet of Ft. Lauderdale. FL; three daughters, Janis Smith Love and her husband Georgory of Ft. Lauderdale. FL; Donna Leigh Driggers and Julie Bredden Bush and her husband Don both of Donalsonville, GA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents James Levi and Florence Irene Pence Matthews; her husband, James Donald Smith.
