Mary Alice Isler-Lanton, age 88, of Jakin, GA passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Isler-Lanton will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. George Masciarelli, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Jakin City Cemetery with Stacey Legar, Jamie Womack, Brandon Isler, Pat Roberts, Scott Powell, and Michael Isler serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Isler-Lanton was born on August 25, 1929 to Scarborough Whiddon and Annie Estelle Martin Whiddon. She was a homemaker and member of Jakin United Methodist Church. She leaves to chersih her memory, her husband, Ted Lanton of Jakin, GA; her children, Betty Jean Harbin and her husband Archie of Donalsonville, GA, Bobbie Roberts of Pinson, AL, Jerry Isler and his wife Peggy of Donalsonville, GA, and a brother Ben Rogers and his wife Glenda. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Scarborough Whiddon and Annie Estelle Martin Rogers; a daughter, Mary Ann Chaney; a sister, Scarborough Lee Scott and her husband Rev. Jake Scott; and her step-father, C.B. Rogers.. Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
