JOAN DOROTHY ROOS CLAYTON

December 26, 1922 — October 12, 2017

Joan Dorothy Roos Clayton, age 94, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday evening, October 12, 2017 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Clayton will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Father Raul Vasquez officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Patrick Lunsford, Andy Brunson, Brian Clayton, Lance Clayton, Cody Clayton, Clayton Brunson, Dalton Spooner, and Stephen Reynolds, Jr. serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Church of Incarnation Hwy 91 S. Donalsonville, GA 39845. Mrs. Clayton was born in St. Cloud, MN on December 26, 1922 to Augie Roos and Bertha Wymen Roos. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Incarnation. Mrs. Clayton was actually one of the founders of the Church of Incarnation in Donalsonville, GA. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Augie (Renee) Clayton of Iron City, GA, King Clayton of Donalsonville, GA, Ann Armistead (Jim) of Mobile, AL, Dorothy Jo Brunson (Randy) of Tallahassee, FL, and Sara Bess Lunsford of Albany, GA. Mrs. Clayton is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Clayton was preceded in death by her parents, Augie and Bertha Wymen Roos; her husband, Custer Hugh Clayton; her sister, Ardele Miller; and her brother, Bobby Roos.
