EDDIE J. HAYES

Eddie Jean Hayes, age 72, passed away September 25, 2017 in Jakin, GA. Funeral services for Mr. Hayes will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Zeth Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Jakin Cemetery. Active casketbearers will be Charles Gibson, Jerry Miller, Jerry Nix, William Murkerson, Mark Whittaker, and Jackie Frith. Serving as honorary casketbearers will be Chad Gibson and Danny Worrell. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, September 26, 2017 at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mr. Hayes was born in Donalsonville, GA on September 5, 1945 to Eural Dorsey Hayes and Clementine Reese Hayes. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Mr. Hayes began his career with the State of Florida in Tallahassee. He later joined a consulting firm in Atlanta, and served as West Coast Regional Manager for their projects in Washington State. He retired to Jakin where it was his joy to make his home and the surrounding lake and gazebo a place of beauty for the community to enjoy. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ruth Ann Hayes; a sister, Janice Stutz of Las Vegas, NV; and a nephew, Derek Stutz of Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents, the late Eural Dorsey Hayes and Clementine Reese Hayes. Arrangements entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
