ARCHIE LEE GEORGE

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Archie Lee George, age 89, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. George will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009, at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Sells officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening, Oct. 11, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. George was born in Colquitt, GA on January 7, 1920 to the late Brantley C. and Emma Lee Houston George. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and worked in construction as a heavy machine operator for many years. Mr. George had served his country in the Army, Air Force, and Marines. He leaves to cherish his memory numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brantley C. and Emma Lee Houston George; both of his wives, Eron Ward George and Doris Dykes George; three brothers, Arthur George, Clinton George, and Russell George; and two sisters, Hazel Reynolds and Allie Ruth Pomaroy. Active casketbearers will be Billy Joe Newberry, Winifred Taylor, Charles Brackin, and Jerry Mock.
