We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Bonnie Ruth Mitchell Swanner, age 81, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at her residence. The funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with interment to follow in Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA with Rev. Talmadge Worsley officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, October 8, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Swanner was born in Dellwood, FL on June 27, 1928 to the late Judson and Mirtis Hart Mitchell. She was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church and worked as a secretary. Mrs. Swanner enjoyed cooking and playing the piano. She also looked forward to getting together with the Women of Grace and the Jubilees, two groups of which she was a member. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Jim Swanner and his wife Joy of Donalsonville, GA; a daughter, Brenda Taw and her husband, Jimmy, a granddaughter, Shannon Taw Zapf, and a great-granddaughter, Carsen Zapf all of Valdosta, GA; a sister, Armilla Richards of Donalsonville, GA; a brother, Judson Mitchell and his wife Sarah of Marianna, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Judson and Mirtis Hart Mitchell; her husband, James Swanner; 3 brothers, Arthur Mitchell, Coy Mitchell, and Wallace Mitchell; and 2 sisters, Ellen Hasty and Mildred Barfield. Active casketbearers will be Dale Swanner, Ronnie Holley, Wayne Dozier, Ricky King, Tim Shamblin, and Jody Ridlehoover.
