CLEO WILLIAMS

We regret to announce the passing of Cleo Jernigan Williams, age 98, of Alpharetta, GA and formerly of Donalsonville, GA, who passed away on Saturday evening, May 20, 2006, at the North Fulton Regional Hospital in Alpharetta. She had lived in Alpharetta for the past two to be closer to her family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Albert Reese, Rev. Luther Hastey and Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow at the Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2006 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville. Mrs. Williams was born in Coleman, GA on January 1, 1908 to the late Jeremiah M. and Bessie Emma Brooks Jernigan. She was married to the late Ralph Williams, owner of Cash Drug Store who preceded her in death in March, 1962. She was a long-time, active member of First Baptist Church and the Lottie Moon Circle, a teacher, and also owned and operated Williams Kindergarten for many years following her retirement. "Miss" Cleo touched the lives of many of her young students with her firm and loving manner. Her affection for children remained constant until the end of her life. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and was a faithful Wife, Mother and Grandmother, who had a special love for beautiful gardens and flowers. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Ralph Williams and his wife Kathy of Atlanta, GA and two granddaughters, Kimberly Anne Williams and Susan Elizabeth (Libby) Williams also of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Harvey and Virgil Jernigan and two sisters, Pauline Jernigan and Euva Jernigan Williams. Pallbearers will be Ted Shingler, Lance Roland, Mark Bishop, Tim Bowen, William Bramlett and Wallace Hambrick. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be American Heart Association,3312 Northside Dr. Suite 140-A, Macon, GA 31210. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
