EMORY COURSON

Emory Eugene Courson, age 81, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Courson will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Brad Bonner officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Dougal Gillis, Jimmy Hornsby, Charles Musgrove, Phillip Owen, Bruce Phillips and Andy Collins serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Hornsby, Brett Johnson, Lee McLendon, Tim McMillan, and Bruce Guest. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to The Gathering Place c/o Brad Bonner 311 S. Wiley Ave. Donalsonville, GA 39845. Mr. Courson was born in Miami, FL on June 7, 1936 to Eugene Courson and Jennie Vee Wilson Courson. He retired from Georgia Pacific as a maintenance mechanic. Mr. Courson attended New Hope Worship Assembly. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carleen Courson of Donalsonville, GA; his daughter, Cindy Bryant and her husband Larry of Donalsonville, GA; and his son, Karl Courson of Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Courson is also survived by a brother, Charles Courson of Fernandina Beach, FL and his grandchildren, Mandy Moulton and Jessica Davis and her husband Antonio, as well as his great grandchildren, Baylor, Paxton, and Ava. He is also survived by a nephew, Derek Courson. Mr. Courson was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Courson and Jennie Vee Wilson Courson; two brothers, Dale Courson and Riley Courson; 3 infant sisters; and his grandson, Jared Courson.
