ROBERT NELSON

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Robert Elmer Nelson, age 73, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Tim Bell and Rev. David Jamison officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church. Mr. Nelson was born in Providence, RI on September 2, 1936 to the late Elmer Wylie and Mildred Johnson Nelson. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a retired sales manager. Mr. Nelson served his country in the United States Army. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shirley Nelson of Donalsonville, GA; a son, Kraig Alan Nelson of Decatur, AL; a sister, Shirley DeJong of Lake Okeechobee, FL; three grandchildren, Billi Byrd, Rebecca McCurry, and Blake McCurry; and three great grandchildren, Jackson Wigginton, Gadge Wigginton, and Preston Byrd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Wylie and Mildred Johnson Nelson. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund PO Box 1026 Donalsonville, GA 39845.
