H.J. "Luther" THOMAS

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. H.J."Luther" Thomas, age 76, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Dorsey Dixon officiating. Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside services and interment will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, GA. Mr. Thomas was born in Bainbridge, GA on February 13, 1933 to the late Alvin and Jessie Watts Thomas. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from General Motors. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Gloria Eidson of Donalsonville, GA, Wendy Hancock of Decatur, GA, and Joyce Thomas of Jackson, GA; one son, Joel Thomas of Jackson, GA; two sisters, Jeanette Johnson of Jakin, GA and Patsy Bruner of Jakin, GA; one brother, Eugene Thomas of Tyrone, GA; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Jessie Watts Thomas; his wife, Evelyn Thomas; and a brother, Alton Thomas. Active casketbearers will be Vince Phillips, Ken Hancock, Robert Eidson,and Rusty Eidson. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
