GUSSIE GILBERT MILLER

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Gussie Miller, age 95, of Jakin, GA who passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Early Memorial. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009, at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with interment to follow in Jakin City Cemetery in Jakin, GA with Dr. Calvin Arnold officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 17, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Miller was born in Donalsonville, GA on September 8, 1914 to the late George and Lena Reese Gilbert. She graduated from Seminole County High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Miller attended Jakin Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Lamar Miller and his wife Hazel of Kailua, HI and Rabon Miller of Buchanan, GA; a daughter, Rebecca Spann and her husband Larry of Jakin, GA; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lena Reese Gilbert; her husband, W.V. Miller, Jr.; five brothers, Nathan Gilbert, William Gilbert, Warner Gilbert, Charlie Gilbert, and Marshall Gilbert; two sisters, Gracie Gilbert and Bonnie Woodham Croft; a son, Bruce Miller; a grandson, Timothy Miller, and a great grandson, Winston Philip Miller. Active casketbearers will be Johnny Miller, Jerry Miller, Victor Cannon, Casey Cannon, Michael Gilbert, and Perry Price. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
