Edna Louise Hartzog Alday, age 88, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday afternoon, June 9, 2017 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Alday will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Scott Messer and Rev. Robert Crapps officiating. Interment will follow in Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery with Kevin Alday, Dustin Ward, Mills Brock, Thomas Greathouse, Dustin Greathouse,and Philmore Higginbotham serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem-Seminole Cemetery Fund c/o Susie Croom 6584 Hwy 374 Donalsonville, GA 39845. Mrs. Alday was born September 19, 1928 in Bascom, FL to Ambrose Hartzog and Katie McKeller Hartzog. She was a homemaker and attended Salem-Seminole Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Donnie Alday and wife Charlotte of Cedar Springs, GA, Lonnie Alday and wife Harriett of Brinson, GA, Garland Alday of Donalsonville, GA, Jill Sandera of Donalsonville, GA, and Hiram Alday and wife Michelle of Whigham, GA; her sister, Claudie H. Stockbridge of Austin, TX; as well as her grandchildren, Kevin Alday, Sheri Ward and husband Dustin, Adam Alday and wife April, Mandie Brock and husband Mills, Amber Brinks and husband Joel, Kyle Alday and wife Deanna, Dawn Greathouse and husband Thomas, Debra Shiver, Penny Scott, and Steven Hick and his wife Lori. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 3great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Alday was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Katie McKeller Hartzog; her husband, Calvin “Pete” Alday; five brothers and three sisters; a son, Danny Eugene Alday; and a great grandchild, Holton Greathouse.
