JAMES LEE SHULTS

February 18, 1939 — May 12, 2017

James Lee Shults, age 78, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday morning, May 12, 2017 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Wingertsahn officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The family has requested that no flowers be sent but that memorial contributions be made to American Legion Post 157 in Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Shults was born in Atlanta, GA on Feb. 18, 1939 to Wilbur Dotry Shults and Eva Katherine Jones Shults. He served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Southern Railway as a Trainmaster. Mr. Shults was a successful businessman and a member of the Exchange Club of Panama City, FL while living there. He served as the club's President and was a member of the Methodist Church in Panama City. Mr. Shults was in charge of coordinating and cooking for fellowship functions at the church. Mr. Shults leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sharla Lee Shults of Donalsonville, GA; his son, John Scott Gary of Panama City, FL; his daughters, April Tara Shults Hurley of Brandon, MS, Nicole Shults Reina of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Wendy Lee Shults Walding of Daphne, AL; his brothers, Wilbur Dotry Shults of Oak Ridge, TN and Paul Wayne Shults of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Chester Weston Lee of Macon, GA; several nieces and nephews, as well as 7 grandchildren and one on the way. Mr. Shults was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Dotry Shults and Eva Katherine Jones Shults, a brother, Robert David Shults, and his father and mother-in-law, Chester Lee and Louise Lee.
