THOMAS WAYNE DICKENS

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Thomas Wayne Dickens, age 70, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at his residence. Memorial services for Mr. Dickens will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 4:00 PM at Donalsonville Church of God with Rev. Kip Boswell officiating. A private family interment will follow in Oakview Church of God Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Dickens was born in Bascom, FL on January 27, 1939 to the late Joe and Velma Skipper Dickens. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Dickens attended Donalsonville Church of God and worked as an automobile mechanic. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Norma Dickens of Donalsonville, GA; two daughters, Teresa Smith of Donalsonville, GA and Tammy Dickens of Lakeland, GA; one son, Timothy Dickens and his wife Debbie of Donalsonville, GA; three brothers, Jimmy Dickens, Roger Dickens, and David Dickens; five sisters, Net Sowell, JoAnne Johnson, Janice Jolly, Minnie Dickens, and Nina Basford all of Florida; two grandchildren, Peggy Thompson and her husband Michael and Colt Smith; and one great grandchild, Aspen Thompson. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Velma Skipper Dickens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice 432 East Shotwell St. Bainbridge, GA 39817. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
