Miriam Stewart, age 88, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Donalsonville Hospital. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, May 2nd from 5:00 until 7:00 at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Georgia. Funeral services will be led by the Rev. Raymond Gutterman and Rev. Dan Jessop at the First Presbyterian Church in Donalsonville, Georgia on Wednesday, May 3rd at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens.. Active pallbearers will be Joel McLeod, David Fain, Mark Hanna, Brad Clarke, Wade Spooner, Billy Fain, Bob Youmans, and Luke Spooner. Mrs. Stewart was born in Pensacola, FL on June 18, 1928 to Frank Dewberry Hall and Eunice Clopton Hall. Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Stewart was an elementary school teacher. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Donalsonville, where she served multiple terms as elder and deacon, sang in the choir for many years, and participated in an after-school tutoring program for elementary school students. She served as Treasurer for the Women of the Church for over 40 years and was very proud to have been presented with an Honorary Life Membership in the Presbyterian Women in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) on her 87th birthday. She was an avid reader and loyal library supporter. For the past two years, Mrs. Stewart was a resident at Willow Ridge in Bainbridge, GA. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ellen Williamson and husband Lenden of Largo, FL, Charles (Chip) C. Stewart, Jr. and wife Cindy of Donalsonville, GA, Jennifer Crandall and husband Scott of Greer, SC, and Mimi Mulkey and husband Farish of Bainbridge, GA; twelve grandchildren, Eric Peterson, Kim Peterson, Mark Peterson, Carol Stewart Sheffield, Claire Stewart Miller, Sarah Crandall Thompson, Stewart Crandall, Elizabeth Mulkey, Hannah Mulkey, Abby Mulkey, Rebecca Mulkey, and Ben Mulkey; four great-grandchildren, Jana Sheffield, Kate Sheffield, Noah Sheffield, and River Strand. Mrs. Stewart is also survived by her brother, Frank Hall of Pensacola, FL. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Dewberry Hall and Eunice Clopton Hall, as well as her husband, Dr. Charles C. Stewart.
