We regret to announce the passing of J. C. Mims, age 89, of Donalsonvlle, GA who passed away Friday, May 5, 2006 at his residence. Graveside service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2004 at 4:00 PM at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Edwin Willis and Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Mr. Mims was born in Dale County, AL on January 23, 1917 to the late James Travis and Nancy Aman Mims. He moved from Dale County to Seminole County as a teenager and was a successful farmer. He was awarded Farm Family Of The Year and Soil Conservationist Of The Year in 1990. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Mims was respected and loved by all his family and his many friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years Louise Mims; one son, Earl Mims and his wife Kaye; five daughters, Julia Easom and her husband Bruce; Virginia Grant and her husband Billy; Carolyn Batchelor and her husband Terry; Norma McLeod and her husband Jesse all of Donalsonville, GA and Caleto Burke and her husband Travis of Tallahassee, FL; one sister Melba Sheffield of Damascus, GA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Acie Mims, Bryant Mims, Jack Mims and Roy Mims and one sister, Modean Mims. Pallbearers will be Gene Cook, Mark Hawkins, Clint Mims, Greg Mims, Willard Mims and Raymond Thompson.
