Shannon Michelle Maddox Stokes

We regret to announce the passing of Shannon Michelle Maddox Stokes, age 34, of Iron City, GA who passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 at her residence. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 10:00 AM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. A private family interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens. Shannon was born in Pensacola, FL on April 26, 1975 to the late William Robert Maddox and Sharon Bryant Maddox. She was a homemaker. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Jerry Wayne Stokes, Sr. of Iron City, GA; two sons, Jerry Stokes, Jr. and Jeremy Brandon Stokes both of Iron City, GA; her mother, Sharon Newberry and her husband Stephen of Iron City, GA; her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Maddox of Dothan, AL; three brothers, John Maddox of Donalsonville, GA, Robert Maddox of Ashford, AL, and Terry Newberry of Donalsonville, GA; a sister, Stephanie McLendon of Donalsonville, GA; two uncles, Gator Bryant of Bainbridge, GA and Lyonel McDaniel of Iron City, GA; one aunt, Susan Gilbert of Bonifay, FL; her mother-in-law, Margaret Smith of Iron City, GA; a brother-in-law, Gary Stokes (Myra) of Montgomery, AL; a sister-in-law, Betty Cassady (Ed) of Dothan, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William Robert Maddox; her maternal grandfather, Pat Bryant; her maternal grandmother, Ernestine McDaniel; her paternal grandfather, John Maddox; and a son, Shawn Michel Stokes. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
