MAE FANNIE CHANDLER HODGES

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Mae Fannie Hodges, age 87, of Colquitt, GA and formerly of Donalsonville, who passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Miller County Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt, GA with Rev. Lynn Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Hodges was born in Houston Co., AL on January 5, 1922 to the late Addie Vaughn and Clara Elafaire Helms Chandler. She was a member of Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Dr. Nathan Hodges and his wife Becky of Bowling Green, KY and Larry Hodges and his wife Deborah of Albertville, AL; a daughter, Clara Cain and her husband Marlin of Kinard, FL; two brothers, James Kermit Chandler of Winter Springs, FL and Billy Wayne Chandler of Sylva, NC; a sister, Vina Rathel of Donalsonville, GA; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Addie Vaughn and Clara Elafaire Helms Chandler; her husband, Roy Lee Hodges; and a daughter, Mary Evelyn Hodges. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church 2676 Burke Road, Donalsonville, GA 39845. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
