DAVID EUGENE ROOKS

David Eugene Rooks, age 62, of Lamont, FL passed away Saturday afternoon, Jan. 28, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Rooks will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with interment to follow in New Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Miller County. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 at the funeral home. Mr. Rooks was born on July 30, 1954 in Monticello, FL to James Asa Rooks and Lila Mae Brown Rooks. Mr. Rooks worked in construction and worked for Joyner’s Travel Center. Mr. Rooks is survived by his wife, Lanette Rooks; his children, Renee Clark and Jerry, David Rooks, Jr. and April, Cindy Lee and David, Ashley Peschl and Justin, James Rooks and Jessica, Charles Rooks, Debbie Rooks and Cynthia Rooks; his siblings, Terry Rooks, Eddie Rooks, Bernice Miller and Butch, Gloria Hatcher, Audrey Walter and Larry, Hazel Pryer. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Asa Rooks and Lila Mae Brown Rooks.
