Steve Murray Barber, age 56, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009 at Tidewell Hospice House in Ellenton, FL. He was born on June 2, 1953 to the late Henry B. Barber and Lucile J. Barber in Donalsonville, GA. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish Lake Seminole and Lake Eufaula. He was employed with Dillard Smith Power Line Construction in Palmetto, FL. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Ryals Barber of Ellenton, FL; two stepsons, Timothy Palmer and his wife Jamie and Christopher Palmer and his wife Brenda all of Bradenton, FL; three grandchildren, Chancey and Patrick Palmer of Thomasville, GA and Hunter Palmer of Bradenton, FL; his mother, Lucile Johnson Barber; a brother, Roy Barber and his wife Becky; and a special niece, Nikki Barber-Mattson all of Donalsonville, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry B. Barber and his brother, Earl B. Barber. A memorial service will be held at Spring Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Dr. Charles O. Walker will give an eulogy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Steve's memory to Tidewll Hospice, 4151 37th Avenue, Palmetto, FL 34221.
