ELEANOR WILEY HOUSTON

July 7, 1925 — December 23, 2016

Eleanor Wiley Houston, age 91, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Houston will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville with Rev. Garth Duke-Barton, Rev. David Williams, Rev. Fred Moore, and Rev. Jordan Arline officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Gerald Lane, Billy Coy Williams, Dr. Michael Carr, Jr., Stan Kennedy, Rick Wiley, and Truette Johnson serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Zack Conoly, Michael Jon Rogerson, Rendy Lovelady, Max Easom, Louis Bonner, Dr. Charles O. Walker, Dr. Michael Carr, Sr., Tyler Easom, and Ray Wiley. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church. Shotwell St. Bainbridge, GA 39817 Mrs. Houston was born in Blakely, GA on July 7, 1925 to Leon Wiley and Maude Sheffield Wiley. She was one of triplets. Mrs. Houston was a homemaker and member of Friendship United Methodist Church. She worked for awhile as a telephone operator, owned and operated the Jakin Skating Rink, and worked as a substitute teacher in the Seminole County School System. Mrs. Houston was also a charter member of the Eastern Star. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Gene Houston of Donalsonville, GA; her daughter, Sandy Snipes and her husband David of Donalsonville, GA; her granddaughter, Meg Duboise and her husband Chat of Valdosta, GA, and her great grandson, Knox Duboise of Valdosta, GA. She is also survived by her triplet sister, Emily Easom of Tallahassee, FL, a sister, Ouida Carr of Donalsonville, GA, and a brother, Marvin Wiley and his wife Patty of Auburndale, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Wiley and Maude Sheffield Wiley; her husband, Winston Eugene “Wink” Houston; her triplet sister, Betty Spooner; and her brother, Lamar Wiley.
