BROOKINS WILL BE HELD AT 4 PM(EST) WEDNESDAY, JULY 15, 2009 IN THE CHAPEL OF EVANS-SKIPPER FUNERAL HOME IN DONALSONVILLE, GA. BROOKINS WAS BORN NOVEMBER 24, 1950 AND RAISED IN TAYLOR, ALABAMA TO CURTIS PRESTON AND ADDIE MAE HODGES RICE. SHE WAS A 1969 GRADUATE OF REHOBETH HIGH SCHOOL AND LATER EARNED AN LPN DEGREE FROM WALLACE COMMUNITY COLLEGE. DURING MRS. BROOKINS CAREER SHE HAS WORKED AT JONES FARM EQUIPMENT, SOUTHWEST GEORGIA FARM CREDIT AND WAS THE CITY MAGISTRATE IN DOTHAN DURING THE LATE 70s. SHE WORKED FOR DR. HOMER BRECKENRIDGE, JR. AND WAS CURRENTLY EMPLOYED AT BAINBRIDGE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOR DR. SURRATT. MRS. BROOKINS ENJOYED GARDENING, COOKING FOR HER FAMILY AND HELPING ANIMALS. MRS. BROOKINS IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, A SISTER, JOYCE RICE LANEY, AND TWO BROTHERS, EUDON RICE AND JOHN HUEY RICE. SURVIVORS INCLUDE HER HUSBAND, CHRIS BROOKINS OF DONALSONVILLE, GA; TWO DAUGHTERS, SUZANNE HAMMITT OF DOTHAN, AL AND JULIE MICHELLE BROOKINS OF DONALSONVILLE, GA; A BROTHER AND SISTER-IN-LAW, JOE AND PEGGY RICE OF DOTHAN, AL; AN UNCLE, JOHN HODGES OF DOTHAN, AL; AN AUNT, JUDY V.
