Thomas James “Tom” Sandera, age 53, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 22, 2016. Funeral services for Mr. Sandera will be held on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Messer officiating. Interment will follow in Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery with Ryan Posey, Bob Hayes, David Sandera, Tom White, Tim Gibson, and Hadden Scott serving as active casketbearers. Honorary casketbearer will be Trey Tillman. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Mr. Sandera was born in Bedford, Ohio on August 9, 1963 to Thomas Henry Sandera and Norma Elaine Kenny Sandera. He was the owner/operator of Dixie Sales and Service. Mr. Sandera loved spending time at the beach, where he enjoyed snorkeling, scalloping, and fishing. He was a natural craftsman, able to build and fix anything. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years Jill Sandera of Donalsonville, GA; his daughters, Dawn Greathouse and her husband Thomas of Dothan, AL, Deborah Shiver of Dothan, AL, and Penny Strickland and her husband Robby of Colquitt, GA; and three brothers, Dale Sandera and his wife Debbie of Houghton Lake, Michigan, Bruce Kenneth Sandera and his wife Cheryl of Houghton Lake, Michigan, and Robert Sandera of Guysmills, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chelsea Gieselmann and her husband Kyle, Dustin Greathouse and his wife Kayla, Biranda Greathouse, Daniel Widner, Sierra Widner, and Reese Stephenson; his great grandchildren, MaKayla Greathouse and Matleigh Gieselmann; as well as his very close lifelong friend, Al Hayner. Mr. Sandera was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Henry Sandera and Norma Elaine Kenny Sandera; a brother, Gary Allen Sandera; and a grandson, Holten Greathouse.
