Joyce Harrell Miller, age 77, of Iron City, GA passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 18, 2016 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Iron City Baptist Church with Rev. David Williams and Rev. Tony Mock officiating. Interment will follow in New Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City with Michael Kirkland, James Carroll, Wes Dozier, Steve Amerison, Joe McLendon, and Doyle Carroll serving as active casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers will be Eugene Hornsby, Don Harrison, Mac Harrison, and W.H. Miller, Sr. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at Iron City Baptist Church. Mrs. Miller was born in Bainbridge, GA on April 3, 1939 to Thomas Hansel Harrell and Edna Lewis Harrell. She graduated from Leon High School in 1957 and worked for the State of Georgia as a Senior Case Worker for Seminole County DFACS for 34 years. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Red Hat Society as well as an active member of Iron City Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir for 30 years and was very much a part of Bible School and other church activities, serving on numerous committees. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband John D. Miller of Iron City, GA; her children, Bob Hines of Birmingham, AL, Peggy Colman and husband Rick of Donalsonville, GA, and Ted Hines and wife Nicole of Bainbridge, GA; her stepchildren, Cindy Reese and husband Sammy of Jakin, GA, Steven Miller and wife Lynn of Panama City Beach, FL, and Chris Miller and wife Danielle of Donalsonville, GA; and a brother, Thomas Harrell and wife Joyce of Pensacola, FL. Mrs. Miller is also survived by her grandchildren, Miranda (John) Roberts, Christy (Wade) Bryant, Jerrid Colman, Thomas Hines, Emma Hines, Kelsea Reese, Samantha Reese, Cameron Miller, Ryan Miller, Nick Miller, and Mary Elizabeth Miller; as well as her great grandchildren, Jackson Bryant, Hines Roberts, Lizzie Bryant, and Amelia Bryant. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hansel Harrell and her mother, Edna Lewis Harrell, as well as her first husband, Robert L. “Bobby” Hines.
