LAWRENCE RAY BROOKINS

Lawrence Ray Brookins, age 61, of Bascom, FL passed away Monday morning, August 8, 2016 at his residence. A memorial celebration of life service for Mr. Brookins will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:30 AM CDT at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Fellowship Center in Bascom, FL. Interment will take place at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Malone, FL at 1:30 PM CDT on Saturday, August 13, 2016. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up in the name of David and Brenda Brookins at Peoples South Bank. Mr. Brookins was a farmer and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He loved reading, playing the guitar, entertaining with stories and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Vernell Hinson Brookins of Bascom, FL; a son, Travis Brookins of Marianna, FL; his brothers, David Brookins and his wife Brenda of Donalsonville, GA and Mark Brookins of Bascom, FL; a niece, Nikki Martin and her husband Travis and their son Tanner of Donalsonville; and a nephew, Barry Brookins and his wife Meredith and their children Conrad and Grayson of North Port, AL. Mr. Brookins was preceded in death by his father, Charles Duane Brookins.
