MARY BIVINGS

We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Mary Wheeler Bivings, age 92, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009 at her residence. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 10:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Kirk Loyless and Dr. Raymond Guterman officiating.Visitation will be held on Friday evening, June 5, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Mrs. Bivings was born in Iron City, GA on March 28, 1917 to the late Raymond and Lola Alday Wheeler. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bivings may be best remembered for owning and operating Bivings Department Store for 45 years. She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Kelley and her husband Grover of Donalsonville, GA; 3 grandchildren, Vince Kelley and his wife Sloane, Maribeth Burke and her husband Jeremy, and Kathryn Trawick and her husband Brad all of Donalsonville, GA; 5 great-grandchildren, JoBeth Kelley, MaryKate Kelley, Jeb Burke, Tanner Trawick, and Jordan Trawick. . She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lola Alday Wheeler; her husband, C.L. "Windy" Bivings; and a sister, Nell Wheeler Guterman. Active casketbearers will be Jeremy Burke, Brad Trawick, Brown Moseley, Buzz Guterman, Brett Guterman, and Dr. Charles O. Walker.
