ANNIE JO SIMPSON BARBER

Annie Jo Simpson Barber, age 81, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday morning, June 9, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Barber will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. David Tart and Rev. Garth Duke-Barton officiating and services concluding in the church. Interment will be private at Friendship Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church Building Fund PO Box 305 Donalsonville, GA 39845 or to Gentiva Hospice 432 E. Shotwell St. Bainbridge, GA 39817. Mrs. Barber was born on September 24, 1934 in Waverly, TN to Harry Simpson and Colleen Dillon Simpson. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, playing bridge, and being with her family. Mrs. Barber was an active member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 67 years, Ed Barber of Donalsonville, GA; two daughters, Lynne Wilson and her husband Larry of Jonesboro, GA and Becky Bush and her husband Tim of Iron City, GA; two sons, Keith Barber and his wife Cindy of Hallsville, TX and Kevin Barber of Stockbridge, GA; a brother, Broaddus Simpson and his wife Kerry of Donalsonville, GA and a sister, Harriett Pouyadou of Mobile, AL. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Simpson and Colleen Dillon Simpson Miller.
