James Clinton Riner, age 72, of Donalsonville, GA and formerly of Kite, GA passed away Sunday morning, May 22, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Riner will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Lake Seminole Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Jimmy McMillian and Rev. David Pace officiating. Interment will follow in Seminole Shores Cemetery with Tommy Hadden, Jason Hall, Jim Weaver, Bobby Glover, Ellis Odom, and Durl Howell serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, May 23, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Riner was born in Kite, GA on April 29, 1944 to Henry Clinton Riner and Claudia May Averette Riner. He was a self-employed mechanic for 50 years in Swainsboro, GA. Mr. Riner loved fishing and was a lifetime member of B.A.S.S., Bassmasters, and FLW. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Lake Seminole Baptist Church. Mr. Riner leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Gearldine Riner of Donalsonville, GA; his daughter, Jessica Riner of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Tim Riner and his wife Jamie of Soperton, GA and Billy Riner and his wife Brenda of Swainsboro, GA; a step-son, Michael Henry; two brothers, Herchel Riner and Robert Riner and his wife Judy all of Swainsboro, GA; three sisters, Laura Mae Mason of Swainsboro, GA, Inez Conley and her husband John of Fayetteville, GA, and Hazel Rickerson and her husband Ronnie of Twin City, GA; a sister-in-law, Scharlene Stapleton of Donalsonville, GA; an honorary son, John Stapleton of Donalsonville, GA and an honorary daughter, Pam Jone of Fargo, GA; as well as a life long friend Tommy Hadden of Swainsboro, GA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clinton Riner and Claudia May Averette Riner and two sisters, Mary Tand and Barbara Gilbert.
