Ellis Wayne Landers, age 72, of Donalsonville, GA passed away May 2, 2016 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mr. Landers will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 12:00 noon at New Life at Lake Seminole with Rev. Glen Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Landers, Steven Landers, Neil Landers, Matthew Engle, AL Fedak, and Sammy Hicks serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday morning, prior to the service at the church from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the American Kidney Foundation. Mr. Landers was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 19, 1943 to Ellis Homer Landers and Ida Bell Downing Landers. He served his country in the United States Army and was a sheet metal worker for Local 36 in St. Louis. Mr. Landers attended New Life at Lake Seminole and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being with his family and friends. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking and having others around to enjoy his meals. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Doris Landers of Donalsonville, GA; his sons, Steven Landers and his wife Letha of Edgar Springs, Missouri and Robert Landers and his wife Alicia of Wildwood, Missouri; his sister, Carolyn Fedak and her husband Al of Gulf Shores, AL; and his brother, Jerry Landers and his wife Carol of Bourbon, Missouri. Mr. Landers is also survived by his grandchildren, Sierra Landers, Dakota Landers, Neil Landers, and Kelly Landers; his great grandchild, Ella Mathis; as well as two nephews, Matthew Engle and his wife Lisa of Farmington, Missouri and Charles Jerry "C.J." Landers and his wife Phyllis of Wentzville, Missouri, and a niece, Leisha Landers of Bourbon, Missouri. Several great nieces and great nephews also survive. Mr. Landers was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Homer Landers and Ida Bell Downing Landers; as well as one brother, Donald Landers.
